Chukwuka Ekweani, better known by his stage as CKay, has once again made history by having his songs top Spotify’s Most-Streamed Nigerian songs list.
Love Nwantiti, the artist’s top-charting single from 2019, recently reached its pinnacle position on Spotify worldwide.
With a total of 537 million streams, it is the most-streamed Nigerian song on the international streaming service.
CKay responded to the news on Twitter, thanking everyone involved and announcing the impending release of his album.
He posted a screenshot of the Spotify streaming chat, showing that “Love Nwantiti“’s remix had received 427 million streams overall, placing it second.
The third song on the chart is Burna Boy’s 2018 song, On the Low with a total of 169 million.
Ckay’s “Love Nwantiti North African” remix (117M streams) placed No 7 on the list and his 2022 song, “Emiliana” (107M) placed No. 9.
Other Nigerian songs on the list include Fireboy DML’s “Peru”, Burna Boy’s “Ye”, Wizkid’s “Essence” and “Come Closer“, and Maleek Berry’s “Kontrol“.
