The Nigerian government could have handled the dispute it has with the microblogging platform, Twitter a lot better considering the number of e-commerce and youths who earn a living through the social media site, Lagos state governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has said.
In a veiled manner, the governor queried Twitter’s decision to invest in Ghana that has about five million users and sidelined Nigeria with 40 million users.
He suggested that the present disagreement would have been tackled differently if the microblogging platform had an office in that acclaimed giant of Africa.
Sanwo-Olu spoke with ARISE News on Monday and noted that in the period that Twitter has been suspended, both parties should sit and have a conversation about having the issue resolved.
